Architecture and timber framework: Rialland’s contribution

A confirmed wood expertise

The timber structure was entrusted to Rialland, a specialist in traditional carpentry, glulam, timber framing, and wooden constructions.

For this project, the structure uses approximately 106 m³ of GL24H+ spruce, as well as 27 m³ of curved GL24H Douglas, employed for the framework and curved load-bearing elements.

A timber framework designed to fit the volumes and contours

Using GL24H+ spruce guarantees the frame’s robustness and stability, and curved wood makes it possible to achieve unique architectural forms (vaults, arches, curved timber structures), blending structural performance and aesthetic quality.

Functional and sustainable challenges

Opting for wood in a 2,300 m² building highlights its structural efficiency, quick assembly, and environmental sustainability.

Rialland’s command of glulam and curved elements ensures precise, effective assembly, speeding up the building process

The use of wood fosters a warm, human atmosphere, appropriate for a public facility with social and community-oriented aims.
